Prior to this role, he served as Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer for Aramco, a position he undertook from 2015 to 2023. He was Executive Director of Power Systems in 2014 and Chief Engineer from 2011 to 2014.

He is currently Chairman of the Board of Directors of Aramco Digital Company (ADC) and Aramco Ventures (AV) and a member of the Boards of King Abdulaziz City for Science & Technology (KACST), Research, Development and Innovation Authority (RDIA) and Neo Space Group (NSG), to name a few.

Mr. Al Khowaiter holds a BSc in Chemical Engineering from the King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals, an MSc in Chemical Engineering from the University of California and an MSc in Business Administration as a Sloan Fellow from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
