Danny Rice
Danny Rice has served as NET Power’s Chief Executive Officer since its NYSE listing in June 2023. He brings over 20 years of energy industry experience across various sectors including traditional energy production and transportation, energy technologies and energy transition.
Danny co-founded Rice Energy and Rice Midstream in 2008, culminating in their $10 billion merger with EQT Corporation in 2017. In 2018, Danny co-founded Rice Investment Group to invest in early-stage energy companies across the upstream, midstream, energy technology and transition sectors. Rice Investment Group sponsored two special purpose acquisition companies, the first acquired Archaea Energy in 2021 (acquired by bp in 2022 for $4.1 billion) and the second acquired NET Power in 2023 (Danny joined as CEO upon closing of the acquisition).
Danny’s career began with finance and strategy roles at TPH & Co., Transocean Ltd., and Tyco International plc.
Danny currently serves on the board of directors for NET Power (NYSE: NPWR) and EQT Corp (NYSE: EQT) and previously served on the board for Rice Energy (NYSE: RICE, until merger with EQT), Rice Midstream Partners (NYSE: RMP, until RICE merger with EQT), Whiting Petroleum (NYSE: WLL, until merger with Oasis) and Archaea Energy (NYSE: LFG, until merger with bp).
Danny was raised in Boston, MA and currently lives in Dallas, Texas with his wife and their two daughters.
