Sonia Dunlop is CEO of the Global Solar Council, the world solar PV and battery storage industry association. 

The Global Solar Council represents both companies and national solar industry associations, from every region of the world and every market segment including rooftop solar and batteries, off-grid and utility-scale. Sonia previously worked for SolarPower Europe, Solar Energy UK and the RE-Source Platform on corporate sourcing of renewables. 

Sonia was for five years part of the senior management team of global climate politics think tank Third Generation Environmentalism (E3G) and worked for the COP26 Glasgow organising team in the UK government. She also spent five years in the European Parliament, where she started her career, working on renewables policy and politics. 

Sonia is Vice Chair of the Global Renewables Alliance, on the Advisory Board of RE100 and the Co-Chair of the Markets Working Group in IRENA. Sonia speaks fluent English, French and Italian as well as basic Dutch, Spanish, Portuguese and a very small amount of Chinese, has two children and is based in London.
